< August 14, 2004 > I did a major update, changing the
navigation system and giving the site colour. I have changed no content
however, but have some new stuff to put up as soon as I fix my server port
and/or location problem. Right now I am thinking of having all the http
pages hosted on the "ownz-u.com" server and having all the files hosted off
my server on port 8080, but well see what happens. As for this current
update there are a few minor things I need to finish up, such as giving the
pages titles and such. Also I would really like to add some picture icons in
various places. Well that's all for now; remember to keep the trance solid
and to keep the processor cool.
< July 24, 2004 > Telus, being a money grubbing stupid
company, decided to block port 80 a long with a bunch of other ones from
their residential high-speed internet users. They claim this is for security
reasons, helping stop the spread of viruses that are transmitted through
there networks, but I have never seen in my router logs a virus trying to
access port 80, though a lot of other non-useful (to me personally) ones. So
the real reason they are blocking these ports especially port 80 is to keep
people (like myself) from running servers off there internet connection, in
the hopes that they will sign up for one of there server packages that comes
with a static ip, no ports blocked, and more upload bandwidth. This
basically means for me, that either I used a web redirect to port 8080 which
I am doing now, but is totally gay, or I have my site hosted some where
else, which I don't really like for obvious reasons. Anyways its been a
while since I wrote something on the "News" page though I have made some
minor changes to the site that is mostly to do with behind the scenes
organization. As for me personally, there's not much knew. I just keep
working and making money, but I am sort of getting anxious to get back to
school.
< June 17, 2004 > Life goes on as we all press on having
the sun scorch our brow in these hot weather foes. Okay, so that does make
to much sense, but at any rate were having some hotter weather now. Which is
good for getting hours for work, but it is deadening to work in. That said,
my job is actually going well, and, as I previously said, I am getting a
good amount of hours. We got some newbies on our site so the people that I
started with and I have sort of moved up the ladder and now take part in
laying the new roof as well as deconstructing the old roof. I am not really
doing much with this site other than keeping my news section updated cause
of being busy with work and all, though I might make a few minor changes on
the weekend if I am not working then too.
< June 11, 2004 > Its been raining today so I didn't go
to work and its sort of scary to say, but I almost miss going to work.
Anyways I have tried to remain productive in my spare time and have been
doing some reading. Yes, real reading not just books on MP3, which, I might
add, are the best thing since Linux. At any rate, lately, I have been
gaining interest in open source software, not really for development sake,
but more for the idea it and the people who write it stand for. So just
being curious I have been trying a few of the more popular programs for a
test drive and in general have been impressed. However, the most impressive
piece of software I have tried was the Mozilla web browser. Not only was it
faster at loading the pages, generally looks better than IE (Internet
Exploiter), but it was as easy, if not easier, to use than IE. I make a very
humble suggestion to all you people out there using IE, that would be of
course to switch to Mozilla which can be downloaded
here. I make no joke when I say it
will be worth your time in the long run, plus you can run it along side IE
first just to see if you like it, which I am sure you will.
< June 09, 2004 > Good news for me and from me today.
First of all I finished (or almost) the spiral graph program I was working
on, and it can be downloaded
here,
with more information found on my programming page. As for the good new for
me today, I just found out that the next few sections of the roof I am working
on have non-fiberglass insulation. I actually am being to like my job
working with out fiberglass, now all I need is some good cool sunny weather.
< June 06, 2004 > Been working a lot so I haven't had time
to do much work on the site. Before I started working, I made a spiral graph
/ lissajous figure graphing program that is actually quite good if I do say
so myself. I want to add a few more features to it, and then I will be
posting a page for it here. As for work, I am surviving, but because the
main job site I work on is full of fiberglass; its causing me some lung
and skin irritation, even though I wear protection against those things. I sort of want to
quit just because of the health concerns, but I don't want to be a 'quiter'
in life, so I will press on and see where I end up.
< May 29, 2004 > My apologies that the server and this
site my be running dead slow today, that is due to me downloading a large
volume of stuff, which is using my processor time and bandwidth. This should
only be a problem for this day alone.
< May 28, 2004 > I had a dream that I remembered vividly
last night, so I decided to write it down and now I am posting it here. If
you wish to make a guess at its meaning please email me. Please note the
names have been changed and I normally wouldn't post something this silly.
It all started
with a really pretty girl who was being harassed by a man spraying her with
a large volume of water from a car driving along the road. He was passing
repeating and would say awfully stuff at this girl. So, I convinced her to
get away from that place and come with me to a bus stop, where we were
waiting for the bus. After the bus came and we boarded the bus (thought I
didn't know where the bus was going and didn't really need to get on it) I
sat near the front of the bus, while she sat at the back. I started talking
to the bus driver, who was a large over weight female with a very hearty
laugh and an oversized smile, about things that are free, like how on
Halloween a store gave away a large bag of candy that we estimated cost
around 20$. We wondered how the businesses could survive giving away that
much stuff. Then I notice this young Asian man, who was slouched over in his
seat, two seats down from mine and who had a blue baseball cap on. As,
I looked at him I realized he looked like one of my friends who had gone to
china on a trip for the summer. So as I called out his name and he looked
up, still looking exactly like my friend, I said in disbelieve "You couldn't
possibly be Tan, because he is on the other side of the world." With a few
words he managed to convince me that he was really him. So naturally, I
questioned his presents here in Canada, getting not much of an answer. So I
speculated that things weren't going well over there. As the time past I
realized, from the buildings and familiar roads that I was on the 151 bus,
which would take me to my house, but it seemed to be past my stop though
that did not bother me to much because I could walk from the last station
home. So I talked to Tan some more not getting to much information from him.
He seemed really sad and I kept wondering why he was over here and even more
specifically why he was in Coquitlam since he normally lives in Burnaby. The
bus drove on. As silence sets in on the conversation I was having with Tan.
I looked again for that girl who was the reason I was on the bus, but I
didn't see her though my eyes came across a few more of my friend, old and
new, that were somewhat out of place being on that bus. In closing I could
see the final station that I was to get off at and then I know I was to walk
home from it, though I sort of felt dread in my heart at the though of that.
But I know that was the path the pretty girl at the beginning had wanted my
to take. End..
< May 25, 2004 > I got hired a while ago at
FLYNN Canada LTD. for a roofing project
there doing near the Production Way / University skytrain station. Though I
haven't actually started the job I know its going to be really manual labor
intensive and involve a lot of work and situations very unfamiliar to me,
but it looks like a good job, having good pay, being full time, and its a
job where I won't be selling crap to people that don't need it. So all in
all I am happy but nervous about it. On a non-work related note, I recently
got sick, which obviously sucks.
< May 18, 2004 > I am still looking for a job and have also
added some for stuff to my site. Such as, I added another link on the
downloads page and some other random stuff. I am working on a flash
animation--we'll see how that goes.
< May 15, 2004 > My job interview seemed to go well, but all
I can do is hope and pray that I get the job. Today I am helping out with
Kids Quake, a children's out reach event at my church, where I will be doing
a lesson. I hope my lacking public speaking skills don't hinder my delivery.
< May 13, 2004 > The picture page and a temporary logo has
been added. I am considering using frames to make it easier to add new
material and content, but I have a slight think against them. As for me I am
still looking for work, but I got a job interview, so please pray for me.
< May 10, 2004 > Well my IP address binded, but it has
some glitches, that I need to figure out.
< May 10, 2004 > My temporary job working for Signature
Accessories in Cosco is over now and I am back to having only a single job.
So I am frantically looking for more work. I did finally get a domain name,
which is "ownage.ca" unfortunately I haven't had it bind with my internet
protocol address yet. Because of this domain change, I think I may change
the name of my web site--its only logical. Finally I have made another
pictures page, but I haven't linked to it yet, because it needs a bit more
work.
< May 05, 2004 > I am going to remove the site map and I
am adding some more server system stats that includes thermal sensors,
voltages, and fan rpms. Currently I am working in Cosco selling jewelry for
Signature Accessories, but because that is only temporary I have been spend
a lot of time looking for more work. Finally I think I might buy a domain
name, though I cant decide on a good available name. I originally wanted "anti.com"
but that was taken, so I am thinking about "antiserver.ca" or "blueroomserver.com".
If anyone has a suggestion please email me.
< April 24, 2004 > I added a site map
mostly just for search engines to crawl, though I am probably not going to
keep it. Also I put on a server information page, which is kind of cool, but
needs a bit of work. You can see how much my server really sucks, in regards
to hardware.
< April 17, 2004 > The navigation system for the web page is
updated and looks good, but makes the over all site look colourless. Not
sure what I am going to do.
< April 16, 2004 > I decided to move all of the old news to
a page of its own to keep this server front page neat and tidy. I would also
like to add a logo soon, but I am not sure what I want exactly. I should add
a link to my temp files too and maybe a web log.
< April 05, 2004 > There is nothing else that make me want to
commit suicide more than IDIS--enjoy. Chapter IV of the book by
Norm Klassen and Jen Zimmermann (A.K.A. Judas and Satan) can be found here:
[15 mb]. Sorry this is such a big PDF file but it does work. It is also
better if you download it to your computer's hard drive first by RIGHT
clicking the link and selecting "Save Target as..."; then just save,
download, and open.
If you download this for the IDIS 102 book response please pay me 25 cent to cover costs,
though this is NOT mandatory. Note: Please email me if you have problems-see the contact
tab.
< April 03, 2004 > Just added the beginnings to a links
page; I will be periodically adding more links and descriptions. I also will
later be moving some older news to a different location. Good luck every one
on their up coming finals.
< March 31, 2004 > I have been dreading this day, the last
day of March, for a while now; mainly because I had a calculus test worth
40% of my mark and a bloody English research essay due. The day is almost
over now and I survived, sort of. I have put a folder on the http server
that I will use to put up temporary, random things for downloading that may
be of interest to you at
http://www.nixuz.com:8080. Soon (meaning when school is
over) I want to add a favorite links page with a FEW of the links I
recommend. I have an ulterior motive in this also for I hope that by linking
to out side sites they will link back to me boosting my search engine
rating. One last thing, the server stats isn't running at the moment I hope
to fix that soon also. Have a great end of the school year.
< March 07, 2004 > If you are looking for the IDIS
documentation it can be found here:
http://www.nixuz.com:8080/Text/idis.rar. Note: You need winzip, winrar,
or another decompression program to decompress the file.
< March 06, 2004 > I am in the process of a major update. It
should be done soon.
< February 22, 2004 > Don't you just love math? Well,
even if you answer no, you have to admit math is such a beautiful creation.
Now if you don't believe me there check out a small program I wrote, called
"XYSINE.EXE" that
graphs out Lissajous figures, which are graphs of two wave functions with
one on the X axis and one on the Y axis. This produces a graphical design
that in my opinion is beautiful. Note, in order for you to be able to see
the design yon need to off set the frequency of the waves.
< February 3, 2004 > I
decided to give my server cover page a new look. Unfortunately this won't
happen much, with being so busy with school. If any of you are from Trinity
Western University definitely check out the Trinity Western University Student
Forum which is hosted on this server. If you sign up for the forum you have
access to down load Maple 8.0.
